As part of a MOBY DICK series at Fort Mason, filmmaker Alessia Cecchet will be discussing her film ‘The Whale who Wasn't’, about whale history, whale imagery, whales and women’s bodies. Sounds wacky, I’m in. Free entry.
Cumbia Night on Lake Merritt, Oakland, 7 pm
Full moon cumbia party by the Lake Merritt boat house, featuring live music. Free.

Hills and Curves Coffee Ride, El Cerrito, 7:30 am
Weekly Friday morning bike ride Hills and Curves will take off from El Cerrito on Friday for a breakfast at Golden Gate Bistro (up in Richmond). Free to attend.
Fish and Bonez Pop Up, Berkeley, 5 pm
Local queer-owned food biz fish and bonez will be serving homemade tacos at Gilman Brewing on Friday. Free entry, pay for your tacos obv.

Market and Music at Sunshine Prophecy, Piedmont, 12 pm - 7 pm
Local vintage shop The Sunshine Prophecy is hosting another of its great Saturday markets, this time with a live show starting at 6:30 pm. Market free entry, show $10 tickets.
Community Portrait Pop Up, Oakland, 1 pm - 7 pm
Local photographers are hosting a pop-up portrait station at Korner Oakland to raise money for youth program Bay Peace. Bring your friends, get some photos.
Oakland History Fair, Oakland, 11 am to 3 pm
The Cameron Stanford House on Lake Merritt will be hosting an event featuring vendors, live presentations, interactive displays, and more. Free with a library card, otherwise $5 entry.
