Hello readers! It is not quite Halloween yet but there are already some fun and spooky activities to check out. Here are some things to do this weekend.
Friday, October 21
Rocky Votolato, Sunshine Prophecy, 8 pm
Indie artist Rocky Votolato will be playing a backyard concert at Sunshine Prophecy vintage store on Friday evening. I will say that this song of his had me in a chokehold in high school so I would love to attend. $25 (tickets here).
Halloween Art House Party, Berkeley, 6:30 pm
Art House Gallery will be hosting an early Halloween party on Friday, with an all-ages show. $10 admission.
Saturday, October 22
Komyuniti Pop-Up, Oakland, 2 pm - 5 pm
A pop-up event with local food, vendors, vintage, etc. in Oakland, featuring food from local businesses. The $25 entry fee includes all food - it is recommended to arrive right at 2 pm.
Seventen Collective Pop Up Market, San Francisco, 12 pm - 9 pm
A pop up market and Halloween party in the Haight on Saturday, featuring local vendors and vintage and a dance party starting at 7 pm. Free entry.
Vintage Fashion Faire, Alameda, 11 am - 5 pm
Massive indoor vintage market in Alameda on Saturday, with many vendors. $10 entry.
Sunday, October 23
Huey P. Newton Day Block Party, Oakland, 12 pm - 3 pm
A block party in West Oakland on Sunday to celebrate formative Black Panther Party member Huey P. Newton, featuring a DJ and food. Free entry.
SPOOKY FARM Market, Oakland, 12 pm - 5 pm
Halloween-themed market hosted by Good Mother studio in Oakland on Sunday. Costumes are encouraged. Food, art, retail, etc. as well as a DJ. Free entry.
Rollin’ with the Homos, Oakland, 3 pm - 7 pm
My favorite drag rollerskating party is back Sunday! Costumes are encouraged. BYO skates or rent them there. They take donations there but entry is otherwise free.
